コペンハーゲンの街はおだやかだ。南の国の陽気で開放的な雰囲気とはまた違い、静かな独特のゆるやかさに惹かれ、2019年からコペンハーゲンを拠点に暮らし始めた。
日々の移動はもっぱら自転車。風を切りながら、街のおだやかな空気を肌で感じられるのが心地よい。街は平坦で、自転車で20分も走れば横断できるくらいコンパクトなのも魅力のひとつだ。自転車道もよく整備されていて、特に朝のラッシュアワーには、通勤通学の自転車はもちろん、子供や犬を乗せたカーゴバイクもよく目にする。
からりと晴れたある夏の日、水辺の風を感じながら、お気に入りの場所を友人と自転車で巡った。

The city of Copenhagen has a mild temperament. The atmosphere also differs from the sunny, liberating one of southern countries. Drawn by its quiet, distinctively slow-paced life, I began to base my activities and live in Copenhagen in 2019.

I make everyday trips around town exclusively by bicycle. It puts me in a good mood to feel the gentle flow of air over my skin as I cut through the wind. Another one of Copenhagen’s appeals is its compact size; the the land is flat, and the city can be traversed by bicycle in only about 20 minutes. There are also plenty of well-maintained bicycle paths. During the morning rush hour in particular, you can see not only many children riding bicycles to school but also cargo bikes carrying children and dogs.

このショルダーバッグは身体にフィットするので、自転車の乗車時も前側にすべり落ちてくることがない。朝夕の寒暖差が大きく、突然の雨も珍しくないコペンハーゲンにおいては、衣類を脱いでさっと詰め込める容量とタフな生地が頼もしい。

「Superkilen」は、Nørrebro（ノアブロ）地区にある大きな公園だ。コンセプトが異なる3つのエリアに分かれていて、エリア間をつなぐように長い自転車道も走っており、いつも市民で賑わっている。
フリーランスのデザイナー、クリエイティブディレクターとして働くMARTINA。スケーターでもある彼女にとって、「Superkilen」のエリアのひとつ「Red square」は、図書館で仕事をしたり、スケートボードを楽しんだりと、毎日のように訪れる場所。

Superkilen is a large and vibrant park located in Copenhagen's Nørrebro district. It is divided into three distinct areas, each reflecting a unique concept. As if to connect the different areas, a long bicycle path runs through the park, which is always thronged with local residents.

Martina works as a free-lance designer and creative director. She also skateboards. She visits Red Square, one of the areas in Superkilen, almost every day to do work at the library and have fun skateboarding.

天気のいい日は外で。同じノアブロ地区にある日本茶店「io」の抹茶を使った抹茶ラテは濃厚な味わいでお気に入り。

デンマーク国内でも有名な歴史ある墓地だが、並木道や草地が続くとても気持ちの良い場所。通り道としても使われていて、公園のように散歩をしたり、ピクニックをする人の姿もよく見かける。この日もCemeteryを通って、近くにあるカフェ、「DZIDRA」へ。みんなのリビングのような居心地のよさで、仕事で煮詰まった時や、なんとなく人と話したい気分の時にもふらっと立ち寄ってしまう。コーヒーをテイクアウトして、Cemeteryでピクニックなんていうのも気持ちいい。

Assistens Cemetery is a historic cemetery located in the heart of the Nørrebro district. While it’s a cemetery, it’s also a popular spot for walking through, and you’ll often see people strolling or having picnics there, much like in a park.
On this day, I walked through the cemetery on my way to DZIDRA, a nearby cafe. It has a cozy, living-room-like atmosphere, and I often stop by when I’m feeling stuck with work or just in the mood for a friendly chat. There’s something nice about grabbing a coffee to-go and enjoying it in the cemetery, almost like having a little picnic.

小さな島々からなるコペンハーゲンの中心地、Christianshavn地区に渡る橋「Knippelsbro」。その下にある「Rosforth & Rosforth」は、30年以上の歴史を持つ老舗のワインショップ。世界各国のユニークなワインを扱っていて、その豊かな知識でコペンハーゲンの食文化にも貢献してきたお店だ。
普段は仕事のあとに立ち寄って運河に臨みながら軽く一杯飲んだり、ボトルを買いに来たりする。ボートで来て、そのまま船上でワインを楽しんだことも。

Knippelsbro is a bridge for crossing into Christianshavn, the central district of Copenhagen, which consists of many little islands. Beneath Knippelsbro is Rosforth & Rosforth, a wine shop that has a history of over 30 years. It handles unique wines from many different countries. You could say that, with its wealth of knowledge, it is supporting the dietary culture of Copenhagen.

Ordinarily, I drop by Rosforth & Rosforth after work to have a glass of wine while gazing at the canal or to buy a whole bottle. I have also gone there by boat and savored a glass of wine right on board.

コペンハーゲンで貴重なもの

イタリア出身のMARTINAは、同じ時期にコペンハーゲンに移ってきた友人。家も近所で、お互いフリーランスということもあり、自然と仲が深まった。
インテリアデザイン専攻の経験を活かしてライフスタイルブランドのクリエイティブディレクションなどをする傍ら、ロンドンに暮らす友人とインテリアデザインスタジオ「APOHLI」を運営している。
MARTINAのこの街の好きなところは、たまに出てくる太陽。どんより曇ったコペンハーゲンの空を見上げて、「イタリアの太陽が恋しい」と彼女はよく嘆いているけど、カラッと晴れた夏の気持ちのいい日差しや、厚い雲の隙間からちょっとだけ顔を出す冬の小さな太陽を誰よりも大切に愛おしく感じているのは彼女だと思う。

Martina, originally from Italy, moved to Copenhagen around the same time as I did. We live nearby, and being freelancers, our friendship naturally grew over time. With a background in interior and product design, she now works as creative director for a furniture brand, while also running a creative studio called APOHLI with a friend who lives in London.

What Martina loves about this city is the sun, which occasionally peeks out. She often looks up at the grey Copenhagen sky and says how much she misses the bright Italian sun. But she is the one who truly cherishes those rare moments when the winter sun breaks through the thick clouds or when the city basks in the long, warm sunlight of summer.
